Here is another nice feature we almost finished: You can now choose between 6 different Weaponconfigurations on your server so far:
  • Normal weapon confg
  • As above but without AWM (loooove it!)
  • Handguns only with nades
  • Handguns without nades
  • Sniper only (they are 4 free)
  • DE / MSG only (both 4 free)

If you have further ideas 4 confgs pls post and we will add them. It will not be possible to ban a specific weapon, we first tried to do it that way but it would cost to many time.

if knife only, buytime should be automatically 0 seconds
otherwise it would be very boring

on knife-only, buytime could be skipped altogether, actually.

And camper warning would be nice, though this can be easily implemented via a mutator.

Flashlight was included in the very first beta i believe. But it was known to cause heavy FPS drops.

What do you need a Flashlight for? I think every Map is bright enough to see an Enemy.

Hi! I'm a TO-AOT player for almost 9 years and i play TO:C Since the first release (but i don't play it everyday...). I'm also a CS Hater. I must say that TO:C is pretty good, but there is stuff missing...

I Like:

-Buy Menu (really nice and easy)
-Flash Granade (Just leet)
-Maps are well done
-Sniper Scope
-All Weapons Skins and models are great
-Silencer in some weapons is ok
-Reproduction of TO-AOT maps are fantastic, better than the originals (except scope that is to open)

I don't Like

-No Knife Throwing... you have to admit that it is a Tactical Ops characteristic.
-Nade Throwing looks like CS, Imo Make it faster to load and give it more range.
-There is something about the weapons sound and the hit sound... it seems like i'm playing paintball...
-No Flash Light... Yes Flashlight is very usefull.
-Climbing vertical stairs... sometimes is hard as hell...
-Footsteps could be louder.
-AK47, DE, M4 needs more recoil.
-No M60 and no M4A2 (it's just fun to use it sometimes)
-Hossies... They are really nice, but when you call them if you don't get out of there really fast they block you
-No leg armour.


I also think that you should try to make a stand alone version...

Well.... this is my opinion about the game... it's good, but i think if you call it Tactical Ops, you should stick to the Original characteristic like nades, knifes, recoils, jumps, speed... I Just don't feel that RUSH style that TO-AOT gives.

I'll try to explain some of your "not like" points.


-Nade Throwing looks like CS, Imo Make it faster to load and give it more range.
--> Faster to load and a shorter time to explode ? Sometimes the maps are very closely and a higher range would not be useful for that.

-There is something about the weapons sound and the hit sound... it seems like i'm playing paintball...
--> Dont know what you mean, sorry.

yeah i know but in maps like RW, Scope, Blister, Drought it gets really hard to get the nade were you want, there isn't enought range...

It's Like... i don't get the power of the weapons, DE seems a little underpowered... and the Hit sound... it would be great to ear that you are really doing some damage than ear something beating on a can...

Volume is high and phones are really great... but i think it's a little lower than the other sounds of the game

M4A2 not M4A1, i mean nade throwing M4 and M60 (100bullet machine gun)

There are some maps, that the hostage stop is to small, and it can be tricky to get out

--> We thought with more armor we have to slow down the movement.Think about the real weight from an armor like this.I don't know if ever played TO-AOT... But it's one of the marks of the game, and like all the gameplay, some stuff must be kept on a sequel... just like the knifes... and TO players don't seek that kind of realism like weight when you buy leg pads... imo there are lot's and lot's of games that have plenty of realism... i think this must be diferent than the rest otherwise no one will show interest by the game... And i really think that a stand alone version would be great, even better if you guys add the game to Steam(i don't know if that's possible, but all unreals are there).

to make TO:C standalone we need a license for UT2004... it costs 50000$

Isn't Unreal Development Kit (UDK) for free? i don't want to mention other games here, but they started development like ut2004 mod and now they're using udk for a standalone version of the game... i think you know what is the game i'm talking about... i don't know anything about development or licenses it's just an opinion...

The UDK-Freeversion is only for the unreal 3 engine.
TO:C is based on Unreal 2 enginge.
