How to install and update TOC!

Installing TO:C 1.95a for the first time

A short instruction on what is required to install TO:C and how to do it.

1. Install your copy of UT2004, a legal CD-key is required.

2. Update UT2004 to the latest revision, at this time rev 3369 (Windows) or 3369.2 (Mac/Linux)
UT2004 updates can be found at these locations:
Windows UT2004 Patch 3369; TNC
Windows 64-bit UT2004 Patch 3369; TNC
Linux UT2004 Patch 3369.2; TNC
Mac (PPC & Intel) UT2004 Patch 3369.2; TNC

3. Launch UT2004 and make sure it works properly, then quit it.

4. Download and install TO:C 1.95a Full install mirrors: TNC

5. You are now ready to launch the game from the shortcuts/launcher applications that you will find on your Desktop or in your Home directory.

To get the best performance, no matter how good your system is, disable Trilinear filtering and Dynamic netspeed from the options menus.

Updating from TOC 1.95

For those with TO:C 1.95 already installed:

Make sure steps 2 and 3 above are done, then continue with
4. Download and install TO:C 1.95a update mirrors: TNC

5. You are now ready to launch the game from the shortcuts/launcher applications that you will find on your Desktop or in your Home directory.

For those on 1.0, 1.1x, 1.2, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.81, 1.9, 1.9a, 1.91 or 1.92

We recommend the 1.95a Full install to make the process as smooth as possible.

To get the best performance, no matter how good your system is, disable Trilinear filtering and Dynamic netspeed from the options menus.

Do not mess around with, install or move any TOCrossfire files into the native UT2004 folders because then future TOC update and installer applications will not be able to find your game!
